Help, my instagram accountn is dead | how to get more follower
The first time I opened the Instagram-app was during an Animation-class I had.
A few people already used this new platform annd were amazed. I hve ver dramed, that this app will one day change my life and become my Workspace. That this app will become the Workspace of many different people world wide. That’s why I started without a plan or any Kind of structure. I was part of this instagame for quiet some time, but than I started drowning. Posting without a plan will lead you nowhere.
That’s why you need more than just cute #ootd to survive in this social Shark tank.
Of course, the most important thing is a signature look.
I fell in love with many #fashionistas just because of their eyecatchy and vivid looks. I want to see something new, but yet something I could wear, too. I want to get inspired and get to know new fashion brands in the same time. I found my style by scrolling through Instagram and getting inspired, trying new trends on my own and refining my signature look. (Yet I wouldn’t say I already have one, but I am working on it. Fashion is a work in progress and you get one step closer to your signature look with every click.)
Today I want to tell you some easy steps to create an amazing Instagram-bio and gain more followers.
And I promise, we keep it simple and start with baby-steps.
InstagramBio | it’s the first Impression that Counts
I can’t tell you how often I saw a picture on Instagram I loved. Most commonly I check the instagramer afterwards and that’s when and where it ends – most of time.
The Instagrambio is the first thing you get to see (profile and profile picture) and when these aren’t aesthetically pleasing most of the people lose interest.
So here are my tips to get new followers and keep new ones addicted to your Instagram account.
First of all, start with a good name that sticks in people’s heads, is easy to spell and find on Instagram and suits perfectly to you, your brand and vision. I an ideal situation you use the same name for all your internet platforms (your Blog, Facebook, YouTube,…) that’s how you create brand awareness.
I can’t tell you what’s right or wrong, because it’s your vision, it’s your idea and you create it, the way you want to be seen. But it’s always good to choose a picture, that presents you the right way. I Always prefer Portraits. The profile Pictures are so small, a fullbody shot or to many things in the background will only distract.
Choose a profile Picture with good lighting. And most people tend to use uni-colored Backgrounds in bright tones, such as blue and pink. An other cool idea is to update your profile picture seasonal. Post summer vibes Right nowand a moody, snowy shot during the winter time.
BUT keep in mind, we are all creatures of habits. I don’t like it, when my favorite-instagramers change their profile picture to often and I don’t recognize them directly and need some time to get used to the new picture. Just don’t update your profile picture every 2nd week.
The possibilities are virutally endless, but keep a few things in mind to keep your feed professional.
Put your name in the first section, this way it pops out in bold letters. Of course you can use some cool emojis or add something to your name.
Than you can answer a few questions, for example who you are (maybe you want to share with your followers, that you are a mom of 2, a youtuber, blogger, wife, photography student,…) or you can write something about your passions (the ones, people will see in your feed and watch in your stories).
Tell them WHY YOU are unique and what they can expect. Will they see cute catvideos or do you post helpful fitness tips?
MORE exciting INFORMATION
You can also add Information such as, where you’re from or what place you’ll visit next. Do you have a life Motto or an inspiring quote you want to share? Do it. Show your hobbies by using cute emojis or create a community hashtag. Be creative and connect with your Instagram family.
They want to get to know YOU and become a part of your journey and online family.
Just in case you use Instagram as a brand it’s a good idea to put some contact information in your bio, such as your mail address. Just a random tip, create a maila ddress for your brand with the same name as your Instagram account, you know…brand awareness!
Most people don’t start with Instagram and just in case you too have more social media channels you want to share and show – this is the best place to put the links to your other channels. (Such as your YouTube account, your second Instagram profile, your blog, show or other places).
You can also use “call to action” phrases such as “click to watch my newest YouTube Video!”
I use them to begin with every new topic in my bio. I also pick the ones that fit the best. For example a cat-emoji for my cat’s profile (yes, my cat has it’s on Instagram account).
This way you keep your Instagram bio clear and structured.
And again – be creative!
